Installation

FIREARM SAFETY RULES: 1) ASSUME EVERY WEAPON IS LOADED.  2) KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO SHOOT.  3) DO NOT POINT AT ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY.   4) KNOW YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND.

Installation instructions

Ensure rifle is ejecting brass from 2:00 to 4:00 laterally.  Rifles with excessive bolt carrier speed ejecting brass at 1:00 may damage your mount and secondary optic.  Ejected brass that is hitting the shell deflector may bounce brass forward and damage your mount and secondary optic.

Remove scope mount from unloaded rifle.

Seat Rotapoint mount so that the bottom horizontal portion of channel is flush against the underside of the scope mount’s cantilever, and the vertical portion of channel is flush against the vertical wall of the primary scope mount cantilever.  While using finger pressure to keep this “flush” position, slide Clamping Plate onto opposite side of scope mount’s cantilever, and hand-tighten screws in a star pattern until they engage the Clamping Plate.   Once engaged, continue to use torque driver and included T10 Torx bit to tighten screws in a star pattern to 10 inch-pounds.  DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.

Use and retain included T10 Torx bit.  Do not use bits of lesser quality on your Rotapoint mount.

Install red dot optic.  Using small amount of purple Loctite® (not included) or VC3, press optic forward into recoil lugs, and torque screws to manufacturer’s recommended value.  We recommend a sealing plate on the Trijicon RMR to prevent water from entering battery compartment and electronics.

Allow 24 hours for threadlocker to cure.

Depending on the size of the primary scope’s bell and dials, you may need to loosen the scope rings slightly to move the primary scope rearward.  In this case, use a pen and masking tape to witness mark the scope and ring alignment.  Follow scope mount manufacturer’s instructions to tighten scope rings back to correct torque. If you used VC3® on the scope rings, slightly loosen screws just enough to move the scope aft.

If you used blue or purple Loctite®  on the primary scope mount you will need to remove each screw one by one and reapply.  Tighten screws to recommended value. Verify and adjust zero (point of aim/point of impact) at a shooting range.

On ADM Scout and Recon mounts you may need to reverse the forward scope ring to place screw heads on the clamping side of the Offset Clamping Mount.

ZEROING

Use bipod or shooting rest to cant rifle so that red dot optic is parallel to ground.  Adjust point of aim and impact at your preferred distance.
